We stopped by here after an afternoon at Sombrero beach. Although this is not a high scale restaurant, food and service here are great, we liked everything.

    Exceptional seafood
    Churrascos was good
Place has grown and food is still great
I had whole fried snapper and it was fresh and tender- most restaurants over cook fried fish
    But this was special

Get the snapper!!!! Oh my gosh.  The whole fried snapper may have been one of the best fishes we have had in the keys. Super fresh and crispy. So flavorful. I will be dreaming of that snapper for a while! The cuban was jam packed with meat! Mahi mahi fish bites were just ok. But that snapper, oh boy oh boy. If you are in marathon, please get this snapper. You will be so thankful!

Our hotel recommended for us to check out the food here and she was spot on. Big menu. Lots of seating. Attentive staff. Keys food with cuban flare. Mmmmmmm!

Freshest fish we've had since hitting the Keys. Walk in, take a menu, grab a seat. Once you've decided what you want, go back where you received menu & order. The Key lime shrimp, which we ordered grilled, was delicious...and incredibly fresh (we actually placed two more orders)! One of our party had a whole snapper, fried; another, a grouper filet; someone else had the grilled mahi-mahi sandwich & one of our party had the rice & chicken.

Everything was fresh, prepared perfectly and tasty! (Except for the coleslaw; all are agreed we've yet to have what we believe to be a delicious or tasty coleslaw in the Keys; Sorry Keys!)

I had the Tuna Ceviche which had pink, fresh tuna, but it was missing a little bit of spice or a kick or something. I ate it with chips and hot sauce and I was satisfied. However, they should add some more flavor to it. Maybe some diced jalapeno....then it would rock cuz the freshness was there.

I also had the churrasco steak and OH my that was delicious! It was part of the surf & turf and came with large, blackened shrimp (get them blackened instead of grilled, we got both and decided the blackened was just a tad bit better). This steak was exactly the way a churrasco steak should be made. It brought me back to my childhood when I would dip it in hot sauce. But you don't need to do that, it was so flavorful on it's own, It came with chimichurri sauce on the side which was perfect for dipping. However, you can easily eat that steak without putting a drop of anything on it. It was literally oozing spices onto its wooden display board.

Just for the record, I don't dip EVERYTHING in hot sauce. I don't put it on my pizza. I do mix it in ketchup and eat my fries that way....but hey who's judging?! And I always try everything without hot sauce first, but if it's lacking flavor Frank's, Louisiana or Cholula is my go-to. NOT Tabasco sauce that shit is just nasty. SO I'm not one to obnoxiously drown out flavor with hot sauce but if it's bland yeah I'm gonna spice it up.

    Ok Tangent over.

The plantains were fantastic! Melt in your mouth sweetness with a crisp outside. Soooooo good.

The yellow rice was blah, hubby was surprised I got it because it just never quite tastes right and I'm almost always disappointed, but the color looked right in the photos so I gave it a try. Maybe add some diced tomatoes and onions to make it more interesting on the palate.  Prob would try the Yuca fries instead next time. Cole slaw was good though and I'm picky with that too.

The place truly is a market attached to a restaurant. You can view the fresh fish showcased behind the glass and watch the guys working behind the counters. I think this is a great place for fresh fish and man don't stop making that churrasco steak....best steak I've had in ages!
